  a Rafflecopter giveaway

  1. I've witnessed someone close to me be verbally, emotionally, and physically abused.

  2. I haven't been touched by domestic violence myself, thank God, but I witnessed it to many times at my friend's house. Mostly it's verbal abuse but still, that's abuse and I'm against it. I don't stay silent when I witness an abuse and sometimes my opininon leads to a whole different argument, but I really don't care, because abuse is something that just shouldn't happen and I hate it when it does.

  3. Once is too much, but my daughter was in a marriage of physical and verbal abuse. She is safe now. My sister in law was also abused, but the police set up a sting with her in it to catch him confessing certain things they needed to make his charges stick. That was movie worthy. She was courageous in doing it.

  4. I have been in a relationship with verbal and emotional abuse, it has taken a lot to come back from it and build my self esteem again. I have never known anyone else that experienced any abuse or they just didn't talk about it.

  5. A lady I graduated with was murdered by her boyfriend a few years ago. I had not seen her since we graduated but we ended up being friends on Facebook. I remember talking with her about a gift he had bought her. Turns out from what I heard, he had been physically abusive for awhile. It was shocking and awful. She was such a nice person.

  6. My son was in a very abusive relationship for about 4 years. We were finally able to get him to exit out of it. She was extremely physically abusive and we have taught all of our boys to never hit a woman. He is a good man and is now free of her.

  7. Many people around me have been touched by domestic violence

  8. I've been blessed and can't say that I have.

    mestith at gmail dot com

  9. Fortunately, no one I know has.

  10. Yes, I have.....but thanks to my family I was out of the situation pretty quickly.

As far as the bad-boy question, I have too many faves to list just one -- the short list? Roarke from J.D. Robb's In Death series, Curran from Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series, Death from Kalayna Price's Alex Craft series, Dante Baptiste from Adrian Phoenix's The Maker's Song series and Terrible from Stacia Kane's Downside Ghosts series.

    Thanks for the amazing giveaway!

  11. my mom used to be in an abusive relationship.

  12. My sister's ex loved to play little mind games, drove her up a wall till she finally listened to all of us and left him. I actually had to go with her to get her things because he refused to give them back; he thought he was a 'bad boy' but he was nothing but a bully. He completely backed down when I stepped in, he was such a jerk; but karma don't sleep and I feel satisfied with what he goes through now. Life is good, we just have to be patient!

Now for your question: What kind of hero rocks your world? Someone who takes charge and kicks ass, but has a compassionate side that only the people he cares for sees.

Thanks for participating in the hop and for a chance to win!

  13. Yes, I know someone that's very close to me, that faced and fortunately overcome an abusive relationship.
    Thank you for the giveaway!

  14. one of my bff has an abusive husband and he hit her a lot...
thx god that she divorced him...

  15. I haven't ever been touched by domestic abuse, myself. However I have had a couple of friends in abusive relationships. It was heartbreaking. Luckily there were no children involved.

  16. I know of someone who was, though I didn't know till several years after she left him.

  17. I have heard of some verbal but never experienced any in person or personally.

  18. I've not been touched by domestic violence (my hubby is awesome) and have not really witnesses it. So far lucky :)

What kind of hero rocks my world? I think I really like the kind of hero who can be macho without being over the top, the kind who knows when to step it up and when not to, and a hero who takes the time to stop and hold the door for a lady and help an elderly person cross the street :D I guess you could say I like a hero with good manners. Silly?

Have a great day one and all and thank you for the chance to enter the giveaway.

    Shelly H

  19. I have not been touched by any kind of violence but have seen someone close to me be verbally, emotionally and physically abused. I am completely against any kinds of violence!

And What kind of hero rocks my world? Someone who knows when to be possessive and when not to be, someone who knows how to make me laugh when I am about to shed tears, someone who fights for me but not with me, and someone who can accept me the way I am and not by changing me!

  20. I have not been, thankfully! I wouldn't even know what to do in that situation.

    Thank you!

  21. I have not experienced domestic violence nor have I been close to anyone who has. I guess I've been pretty lucky so far in my life.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  22. I am a school psychologist, so unfortunately while I don't really deal with marital abuse, I have had clients who have been in abusive relationships (dating, parental, etc.).

    snhoveln (at) gmail (dot) com

  23. I haven't personally been touched by abuse, but my mother has always been on the board of trustees for our local women's shelter, and I've volunteered, both in the shelter and for fundraising events. It's definitely a most worthy cause.

  24. A friend, her boyfriend was an a-hole but she broke up with him

  25. I've not gone through it.. but have known others that have.. its quite heart wrenching.. ;( valshemi at gmail (dot) com

  26. Fortunately I have not been touched by abuse. But I have witnessed emotional abuse in family friends' relationships. Even as a child I recognized that something was not correct. Luckily both women have left said relationships and are doing much better, as are their children.

  27. I have not been touched by domestic violence and I hope to never be. I know that my heart goes out to all those women that think they have no where to go and no one to count on. There is always someone somewhere that is willing to help.

  28. Thankfully I haven't. I can't imagine if someone that I know or myself even ever had a domestic violence. I'm so thankfull that I have a wonderful family and friends.

    Thanks for this giveaway :)

  29. My sister, verbal and emotional. Thankfully I have not.

  30. I have not been thankfully.
Thanks for the chance to win!

  31. No I haven't thankfully.

  32. I haven't been, but it's something that happens and is definitely not okay.

  34. I have been in an emotionally abusive relationship, but thanks to my family, got out of it quickly. I pray everyday that women and children who are in an abusive relationship can find a safe haven.
    Love the video.

  35. Luckily I've never been in that position, and nobody close to me has been either.

  36. My grandparents relationship was full of abuse and what not! I remember when I was a little girl probably about 5-6yrs old walking into my grandparents house and seeing my grandpa holding a pistol to my grandma's head. It's a vision that I see everyday and it caused me to have some really hard feelings twords my grandfather even after he quit drinking and abusing my grandmother...I feel as tho if I had not walked in that day he would have shot my grandma.

  37. No I have not been in that position or know anybody that is!
Thank you for the great giveaway and fun blog hop!

  38. Yes i have. Ive had a few family members that have been in violent relationships. There scary, very upsetting, and they dont always turn out good.
    Thank you for the giveaway!

  39. Yup. Verbally and physically abusive relationship. It made me realize the type of guy I'd never date again. Never settle for something like that again. And my friends and family were the best and most supportive throughout the entire relationship.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  40. Verbal and physical abuse as a child unfortunately

  41. My ex husband was bipolar. He 'couldn't' take medicine because of his religion (his mother discouraged it too) so he threw temper tantrums, threatened violence against our baby, and threw and kicked things. I left him and now live with another angry bipolar man. Can't get away from them:(
