Welcome to Thankful For Books Giveaway Hop!
Thanks to Kathy of I am a Reader not a Writer and Tristi Pinkston for hosting this giveaway hop. Wow, it is huge.
Okay, my new release deals with domestic violence.
To celebrate women's empowerment, I will give one lucky winner:
1. a button and a key chain of woman learning to fly:
\
2. A signed ARC of Forever Hers:
To ENTER:
1. Tell me what you prefer reading, a book that is part of a series, so you can catch up with the previous couples or do you prefer stand-alone novels. The Fitzgerald Family series is about eligible Fitzgerald men and women who face every day challenges to find love.
2. Watch the trailer of Forever Hers and leave a comment
Stand alone books are ok, but I tend to get attached to the characters I read about so it's nice to read a series where I might see them again in the next story. It's nice to get snippets of their lives later.

The trailer was great. :-) I prefer series to stand alone always. I love, love, love to get to know the characters in a book. When I read a series, it is wonderful to know that I'll get to see the characters again! Plus with a series, you only need the back story in the first book. When you read stand alone books you have to dredge through the back story each time, before you get to the meat of the story.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to meeting your cast of characters.
Thanks for the giveaway!

They both have redeeming qualities! I really do like series because it takes away the question of "what to read next" and also can go into more character development and history. However, sometimes a stand alone novel just says it all and when you are finished, you have the satisfaction of saying "I am done" and the story is complete! I do not like stand alones however that have a cliffhanger ending! There is nothing worse than constantly wondering what happened!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
Best wishes,

ReplyDeleteI like book series more cause I always want to know more about characters in the book. Also LOVE the trailer. I had watched it before.
ReplyDelete1. I love books that are part of a series better because it feels as if the original story continues in it's own way. Plus, when there are other characters you want to know more about or just fell in love with already you get the chance for their happiness :)
ReplyDelete2. I love the trailer :)
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

I like book in a series better.
ReplyDeleteI much prefer series--you get to spend more time with the characters, even if the focus is off of them. I'm afraid that I've not read any of your books, I'll have to try to pick one up. Congratulations on your new release....and thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI like both. Thanks for the chance to win!

I like reading both stand alone and series... But I really like when an author who is writing a series, enables the reader to read each book as a stand alone book..An example of an author that does a good on doing this Lisa Kleypas which I began a book the Hathaway series with Love in the Afternoon (which I found after I read it, it was book 5) then went read seduce me at sunrise (which is book 2)& I had no problems
ReplyDeleteJoey Hill is another that does that...
The video was interesting, seems like a good read...Thanks for sharing...

I like series because I can get to know the characters more and it has way more depth in it without it being rushed.
ReplyDeleteGreat video!

I love series so I can get to know all the characters really well. I feel more invested and fall in love with them easier. Not to say I don't enjoy a stand alone as well. I loved the video, especially that he teaches her to be self reliant. Amen to that I really look forward to reading it. I have only read the first in the series so far.

I like both. As long as they catch my interest I will read and buy them.

Both! But it is fun to follow up or find out 'what happened' with a series.
ReplyDeleteAs to your trailer/story, I've been there/done that...but still waiting on my 'Eddie' lol. Yes, I'm a survivor of DV. My kids were 7 months, 18 months, and just turned 3yrs when we 'ran'.
They are now 12, 13 and 15, healthy, happy, and intelligent!! *smiles*
Now ya see why I love hops/giveaways? Nice way to suppliment my book addiction, lol.
Thanks for the chance to win.

I love both stand alones and series. Stand alones are pretty rare now, with most books being part of a series and because of that, I tend to read more in series but I do love the ocassional standalone I come across
ReplyDeleteLoved the trailer

I prefer stand alone novels unless I have all the books in a series. I
ReplyDeletedon't like waiting for the next one, which may take awhile and by then I have forgotten what happened before.
The trailer looked like it involved a lot of action. Interesting!

I prefer stand alones or if the series is about a family and each member has their own story. Thanks for the chance to win!
